Hey my friend is a starting bass player that and has a nice amp/cable/instrument/picks so I am kind-of stuck on what to get him. I've played guitar for a while and I've heard of bass players who use chorus pedals, so I thought about getting him a danelectro FAB chorus, which to me sounds pretty good with guitar. Any input on if that is a good idea or any new gift ideas?
Considering how much a set of bass strings cost these days, one or two sets of good strings would make a fine gift for a bassist. Pedals are a personal-taste type of thing: you never know what one person will like or dislike. On the whole, bassists do not use nearly as many pedals as would a guitarist, and we are very picky about what we think sounds good. Those pedals are definitely not to be found for around $20.00.
Other than strings, I would say a nice strap or maybe some bass related clothing
Music gear is pretty personal.
Wide leather strap, straplocks, tuner.
