Just found a film I must have seen around 7 years ago, I doubt many of you have heard of it or seen it considering it's a small budget UK film but it was actually pretty good.

It's a film called mirrormask and its seriously trippy, like maaaaaad.

Main thing that got me was the art direction, I'm not one for modern noir art films (which this isn't, it's a sort of kids film but not, it's strange) but it was just visually quite spectacular. It also has a pretty awesome dark ambient jazz soundtrack.

It's a weird one, the setting is a world that a 15yo girl has drawn and is brought to life in her dream and is really quite dark considering it's sort of aimed it at younger kids/teens. Think of a Gothic Alice in Wonderland.

Point of the thread is I guess share some dark or strange art type of films, I kinda want to explore more.

This is Alice in Wonderland done right, not that ****ing abysmal piece of shit from Burton.

Has Tim Burton ever made a film that wasn't?
