You've been here for 2 years and this is your "what amp" thread?.
The vs gets a decent crunch and does nothing else well. The Bandit is ok for what it is but I'd take a vox vt or peavey vyper over either of those. If you want ss metal tone, why not get a randall? They seem to have the market cornered for ss metal amps.
Fender Mustang/Derfenstein DST> Boss Power Wah> Pedal Monsters Klone> Bogner Uberschall> Walrus Audio Janus> Randall RM20> Line 6 M9> Randall RM20

Honestly, neither. A peavey Vypyr kills them both.
Gibson SG Standard
Gibson Les Paul Traditional
Cort Explorer
Squire Standard Strat rebuilt with Fender USA parts
Squire Tele
Krank 1980
Orange Tiny Terror
Traynor YCV 50 Blue
Peavey Vypyr 75

Will fly for food. Call me Dylan

I tried one.
I thought it was broken at first, I really expected it to sound better.

If you want proper help, write your budget, the stuff you'll be playing with it, where you're located, if you're willing to buy used stuff, and what gear you already own.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

I saw in a couple of pictures that on Bucketheads Les Paul (only some pictures) that his neck pickup is painted in white. Can anyone explain to me why he would do this, and if there are any pros and cons.

The guy wears a KFC Bucket and a white mask during performances, and you're interested in the color of his pickup covers?

^ the harley benton g212 vintage is said to be far better than the jet city cab.
Plus, if you gotta spend so much money anyway, I'd get the 100HDM which has a depth knob.

Either that or modding the 50h and adding the knob yourself.

yeah the harley benton cab is better- certainly out of the box (i.e. it has far superior speakers), and maybe even as a cab too.

The cab's that indeed.
The head is the standard 100h, I was talking about the blacker 100HDM, I'm not sure 100% about that but I wouldn't say it's not the 50h with a couple tubes more.

The depth mod though should be a really simple one, so even if you're not experienced it'll not be hard to do it if you have used a soldering iron a couple times in your life.

Edit: now that I look back at them prices, if you don't need the 100w it'd still be cheaper to find someone and pay him to do that mod for you, so think about it if you have some local amp tech or friend who's into that.

Though it's a shame, I'd have loved to get the jet city for the looks, I'm still in love with the 333 logo.

But my v30s are finally starting to break in so who cares, really

ohh ok.
Do they fit together? 100hdm and g212?

I didn't understand you...which mod?
#17
^ don't worry about mods now, lol. there are lethal voltages in tube amps and you've never even owned a tube amp before. i've never modded a tube amp either.

the 100hdm has a depth control which gives more low end. the normal 100 watt head and the 50 watt head don't have it, but they're a lot cheaper. if you're trying to keep the cost down the 50 is probably the one to go for.

yeah the 100hdm and the g212 vintage should be fine, the g212 vintage has 120 watt handling so that's a safe match.

^^ yeah i went with the jet city cab because of the looks and also i was planning to use eminence v12 speakers so I was ending up swapping speakers anyway. but out of the box the g212 is just better value and maybe a better cab, too. And v30s are also speakers that sound really good (when broken in) with the jet city amp.
