Super solid contemporary metalcore in the vein of BTBAM, The Faceless, Last Chance to Reason, and Painted in Exile. Lots of tight riffs, lots of groove, lots of shreddy solos (and some keyboard solos as well). The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the clean vocals, but they're growing on me.

I only really call it that because I'm positive if I posted this in the metal forum they would flip shit about how it's for posers or whatever.

I like it. I don't listen to a lot of prog metal anymore because I got bored of it, but I like this. I think the prog I was into just went all over the place that it just wasn't fun to try and follow anymore. This is a little more straightforward, and I like that.

That song at like 12 minutes in has a really sweet intro.

Love it. Only listened to a clip but it is great. Will proceed to listen to the whole thing.

I definitely agree; it's a great balance. Not straightforward enough to get boring and old after three songs but not all over the place enough to disrupt the flow.

Early stuff is Deathcore with Tech influences and the new stuff is well I dunno... Devin Townsend worship or something.

Tech death maybe, death metal, nah.

Isn't The Faceless Death Metal?

Essentially yes; I named the genre of this band and then I named other bands they sound like. The genre term wasn't meant to encompass all the bands that followed.

This is correct, Chem.

You need to listen to more progressive metal, if Townsend is the first thing to come to mind. lol

It's just progressive metal. Personally, I prefer it to their old stuff. Less of a riff salad mix, more of a song mix.

I do. And the Townsend comparison, while valid, was just funny to me.

Edit:
Although, to be fair, the Townsend thing is just coincidence. Because a lot of prog metal uses similar type of compositions. Not that it's a bad thing. It's just a thing.
