Trades will not be automated for a very long time, so I got nothing to worry about.

Thing is here, it seems it's mostly Filipinos who are taking most of the jobs here.

So this means that Filipinos are automatons?
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

I stopped reading it when it said that innovation typically results in job loss. We may reach a point where technology is getting rid of the need for workers, but thus far innovation has only a.) created new markets, and b.) increased worker productivity, leading to hiring more employees.

Then boutique companies will open to fill the growing demand for human interaction and innovation, who will then become successful and the whole cycle will repeat.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable

But it didn't say that at all. It said technology results in job loss in one market and job creation in another. Don't be a doofus.

Fair enough, I didn't finish reading the sentence. The part I referenced is still wrong and contradicted by the second half of the sentence (there were job losses, but those employees were given more duties? How did they lose their jobs and then being given more work in their job? What?), but fair enough.

Pin setters in 1950s bowling alleys lost their jobs to machines, too. Never really influenced anything.

It just means that common employment will shift away from menial manual tasks and more towards work of the mind. It's not going to be a terrible collapse of society. The job landscape is always changing with technology, this is no different. It'll adapt fine.

More work concerning the mind means that even more effort has to be put on education, and making education more equitable. It may not be a catastrophe, but it will make us have to deal with new problems, or current problems that will get even worse.
