my board at the moment is tuner->wah->overdrive->octave->phase shifter->chorus->delay->synth->noise gate and the synth is the only one with it's own power supply, all the rest are daisy chained off a one stop adapter. needless to say it's noisy as hell. however, in looking at power supplies like the voodoo labs pedal power, it only has four 9v, a 12v and an 18v input. would daisy chaining off an isolated supply make it noisy again or would i need to get two separate supplies for my board?

maybe

i think the thing is that only some pedals get noisy when daisy chained, so with any luck you have enough outputs on the VL to only daisy chain the more agreeable ones

i should add i've never actually tried daisy chaining from an isolated supply myself, that's just the theory behind it, i think.

there are some VL ones with more outlets, I think.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

If all of your pedals are 9V, then that's 8 pedals needing power excluding the synth, right? In that case the Pedal Power 2 Plus will suffice.

The PP2+ has 8 9V outlets. 6 of the have 100mA current capacity, the other 2 have 250mA. The first 6 can be switched to 12V, while the last 2 can be switched to be anything between 0 and 9V. You'll be fine.

ok so i'm an idiot and counted phase shifter (on separate lines) as 2 pedals

I can tell you from experience that you want your noise gate isolated. Whether it be a seprate one spot, battery or am isolated powersuply.

I don't have an isolated PSU, and my signal chain is silent (board is pic in my sig), and I don't use a noise gate.

I've found most pedals don't make any noise, except super high gain distortions. There's probably one pedal in your chain that's causing noise.

Could also be that your power is just dirty, in which case an iso PSU will help.

But idk.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot that I run my amp clean. Noise comes from by and far using gain on an amp. Are you running your amp clean or with distortion?

I get a little bit of noise when running it clean and quite a bit when on the distortion channel. That being said, it's a tube Peavey Valveking head I got on craigslist three years ago so it may be time for a retubing.

the decibel 11 big one is 179 and has 10 outlets. may help for a larger board.

Voodoo Labs does sell a "Mondo" Pedal Power, but that puppy costs $299 I believe.
