Hey guys,

I'd love some feedback on this track https://soundcloud.com/orrymr/demo-3
I'll C4C. Would love some feedback on the overall sound... Busy learning about recording, so any point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

That was awesome. The guitar's tone was great. Not much to say, only that the drums weren't the greatest. Felt slightly off at time. I assume they're digital, so try to find a better sounding program/setting as they sounded too "opaque" to my opinion.

If you don't mind, please take a look at this instrumental; it's only a Guitar Pro demo, unfortunately, so the sound isn't great, but if you've got other suggestions that would help:

Cool, will reply in your thread.

Yeah, I'm busy using the demo version of addictive drums. eventually I'll fork out the cash and get the full version. Still, I'm struggling to get a decent drum sound.

Thanks for the reply

Hey man, the riffing was quite awesome! The guitars were a bit too bassy, however the bass tone was perfect!!! If you added some more treble to the guitars, this would be badass!!! ALSO, if you would need any drum tracks (If you have the midi) I have the full version of addicitve drums, i can process them for you. Just message me on here if you are interested. I THINK this could be a badass song with better drums and a little different tone!!

Oh man, I totally dig the mix. I enjoy the sound of the guitars very much. I'm more of a fan of bass-y guitar anyhow, hah. Love the slow down, it really gives a nice flow to the song. I think a nice bass drop right after that slow down would be amazing. As everyone has already pointed out, the drums could sound a bit better, but all in all, this is awesome. Keep it up, dude!

If star wars had a Heavy Metal band (no not "Vader" lol), then you would be it. You sound like a anrgy mother****ing Yoda.

I sound like an angry Yoda...is that a good thing...or a bad thing? lol

Sweet, thanks guys! Check out your threads for my crit

@awesomo41894: Yeah dude, my old band mates actually used to complain about my tendency to put the bass way up :P Man, I might just take you up on that offer - I appreciate it!

@Bleak: Like a dubstep style bass drop you mean? I don't really know how to do that. I guess folks use Komplete's Massive vsts for that. I think I try process the drums to sound halfway decent, but it ends up just sounding boxy.

Yeah, the guitar and bass sounds great. The drums are too low, though. I think you'll get a better mix if you lower the volume of the guitar/bass and bring the drums forward. They really help bring power to a song. Also, you have to use an equalizer to make room for all the instruments so that, for example, the bass and the bass drum don't get in the way of each other.

I feel the guitars are lacking some treble too, the bass is awesome, doesn't stick out too much but you can hear it, not much to complain on the mix.

The writing is pretty good too, some of the riffs really caught my attention (0:20-0:55 and 2:10 until the end). Also, the bass was very well played, loved the intro.

Here's my song in case you want to check it out (it's metal too): https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1643890
