Looks like a Jackson RR3 to me. I assume it has a bolt-on neck joint? I don't know Jackson serial numbers, unfortunately.

It looks like a Jackson RRX10. Slightly higher model than JS series, lower than RR3.
They have been discontinued for a while. If I remember correctly they were made in Japan (I'm 100% on this one), had rear-loaded electronics, a JT-580LP low profile trem, a single volume, 3-way switch and came with a pair of Duncan Designed humbuckers. The ones that were supposed to be copies of JBs, I think.

So far everything points towards RX10D, single volume pot, pup switch and no tone pot and a (most likely) licensed floyd.

What does the electronics cavity cover look like? If its triangle shaped and recessed into the cavity its RX10D. If its oval shaped and rests on top of the cavity its the same Jackson model I bought used and frankly have no idea what it is and neither did anyone in the Jackson forums. They did speculate it was one of the old JS models though. (which is a damn shame because I did buy it thinking it was RX10D. And now the floyd and shitty tuners are worn out and need replacing...)

*edit* oops, I meant triange not rectangle.

Looks like a JS series Rhoads guitar. They're the bottom of the line guitars but they still sound great. This is the best they have for serial numbers so far on Jackson guitars:

http://www.jacksonguitars.com/support/serial-numbers/

According to this (I'm not completely sure on this) it could have been a v Jackson Junior made in 1996.

Note: This list of serial numbers doesn't include imports which yours definitely could be.
If it says "Professional" on the headstock its an import.

It's an 8 digit serial and that could also mean the first two digits give you the year (2001) but I'm almost certain it's a JS series

I have one of these at home in a case. I never use it but when I get home from work Ill see how much they are alike.

I thought the JS Rhoads didn't have double locking trems?

They made ones that had a licensed Floyds and ones that were strings-through.

But I think that all JS Rhoads had 24 frets, whereas RRX10s, RR3s and older Japanese models had 22 frets like RR1s do.

I still think that it is RX10 of some kind. :P Either RX10D like MaaZeus said or something else that maybe was a limited run for a music store chain....

But the serial number is odd. Jackson imports' serial number don't work the same way as they do for the American ones. A "9" at the beginning would indicate that a guitar was made in Japan, which this model should have if it really is a RX10.

For the sake of comparison this is mine, which is NOT RX10D. Serial 00050252. Though there is no Jackson logo in the backplate or the tuners.

Front (exactly like RX10D)

Back (where it differs externally)

Compared to the real RX10D of some old UG:er taken from his FS thread.

Note the electronic cavity covers. Also the output jack plate is square with 4 screws in mine instead of the eye shaped with two screws of RX10D and RR3.

We only wait for the TS. Is it the RX10D or is it the (outside of absolutely amazing neck) the shitty mystery model like mine.
