MGTOW stands for Men Going Their Own Way. Or MGHOW if you're referring to yourself.

Let me explain, it's not about wearing fedoras, although you can if you want to.

In simplest of terms, it basically defines a man who removes women from his priority and turns his back on the idea of a family man, father, provider, etc. This doesn't mean avoiding women or sex, just a middle finger to the traditional idea of a man that belonged to our fathers.

It goes deeper than that though.

No marriage = no marriage = no kids = no liabilities.

You can do whatever the fvck you want.

You study something useful. Heck, go to trade school if it's better.
You look for a job that pays well but doesn't compromise your mental health.
You don't need that big house with the big mortgage. A nifty apartment will do.
You find a way to create a secondary stream of income.
You hope that second source of income will suffice you day so you can say good bye to your boss.
You, essentially, minimize.
You become used to minimization and lose interest in material goods = less spending.
You, hopefully, become less stressed, have more time for yourself, and live happier.

I've been reading into this philosophy lately, and I love it.

everything that you've come to expect

i support the rejection of masculinity. masculinity is patriarchal bullshit and we'd all be better off without it.

as for the rest of the philosophy... you can keep it i guess.
i don't know why i feel so dry

You can have all the sex you want, just don't commit. Simples.

That's a terrible name, I think masculanism sounds better and fits the other counterpart.

I've reluctantly decided to pursue this path since i know i would be a terrible father and husband. Maybe i'll change my mind later in life but i probably won't.

I'd rather be alone than be with a kid that hates me or I can't support and a dead bedroom.

And a shitty wife.

So...basically the ideal of these MGTOWers is to live the life of a gay drug dealer?

Quoted for good measure. All of Philip's threads come off as really pathetic and the thoughts of a lonely person.

Or you're scared of the fact that all of that would be entirely your own fault.

You can do most of those things while married you sad sack

How?

If you're married you have to run everything by your wife.
If you're married you're under more pressure to succeed in your job (office politics, ass kissing, etc.).
If you go down, so does she and the kid.
If you fvck up, you go through divorce.
If she fvcks up, you go through divorce.
If you're married you have to spend time, money and energy on a relationship.
If you're in love you think emotionally, rather than logically.

Shit man, KISS.

Keep it simple, stupid.
#23
Now why is there a need to create new labels? Isn't there a term for this already, like metro-sexual or something?
#24
Meh, I'm happy in a relationship

If you want to do that then go for it
Eat your pheasant
Drink your wine
Your days are numbered, bourgeois swine!

Spoken like someone who has social issues.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable

Ah, i can see it now...A man walking down the street, fedora in hand, neckbeard blowing in the wind with the smug grin of a man that's transcended the need for women on his face as every girl in the street, terrified my his machismo, runs from him screaming "Philip comin' Philip Comin' yo!".

None of the stuff you listed affects me in the first place.

You just love projecting your fears all over everyone else. You have such a weird worldview.

The thing with relationships is that they're with people. You talk about women as if they're blood-sucking leeches. You spend time and energy on them but they spend time and energy on you. It's a two way street. When my girlfriend has money, she'll pay for me if needed. My girlfriend is pretty much unobtrusive in my life. I don't have to get permission to do shit and she doesn't have to get it from me. Pretty much no drama at all. Almost as if I'm in a relationship with a suitable person. weird

Someone should say something rational like, "to each his own" or some shit.

I know some dudes who do the stuff Phillip is talking about and I'm cool with it. The problem is that Phillip can't come to any conclusion without turning it into some high minded endeavor.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm talking about the kind of women who would sleep with a man that age, that aren't his wife etc. They'd probably be from the elite league of long-term skanks, with STDs that had been previously thought extinct to medical science *shudder*

learn when to just stop talking.

The difference here is that I don't make huge generalizations like you. I probably will get married someday if I find someone I find suitable. At this point in time I don't want to and don't think I'd want to marry my current girlfriend. People change over the years so we might grow into a couple that's better suited to marriage. But all that is only concerning this one girl. You can't make these dumbass rules that apply to everything.
