Hi Folks, hope you are all looking forward to a scorching summer, filled with lazy days, cold drinks and hot guitars! Anyway has anyone noticed a sudden increase in the price of Marshall amps? This may be just in the UK and only on selected amps but I have recently noticed that the JVM215C has risen from £700 to £1100, . Has anybody else seen this, can you explain it? Is this the end of a special offer, has Marshall's pricing changed, are they having pricing problems or does the universe just hate me?
I've been looking to buy an all valve Marshall amp to go with my Les Paul in the £500-£600 range and it was a choice between the DSL40C and the JVM215C. I've played them both and liked the 215 more. So I've been saving up my pennies and tried to persuade my wife that I REALLY need a better amp, "Honest Dear"
And then what happens the price almost doubles.
So answers on a postcard please and rock on

Didn't even heard of it.
Get a DSL401 or a DSL50/100 + a harley benton G212 vintage and be done with it already.
Name's Luca.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

Yeah, get an old British made JCM2000 DSL of whichever size you'd druther. As long as it's made after 2003, you'll be ok. They're a better sounding amp and, you're in the UK. It's a no brainer. Use the money you save to buy some nice tubes and speakers.

Thanks Cathbard, you got me thinking about the Jcm2000. I had a look at reviews etc and I'm going to try one out over the weekend. Time to get out my Les Paul and dust off my chops, wish me luck.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
