Hi everyone.


I need some help regarding the size of screws needed for my sunn mustang.its for the humbucker bridge pick up.if anyone has one of these guitars or even a fender strat with a humbucker in this position could please let me know what size I need.im not sure if its 2.0mm or 2.5mm.

Well, this comes up.

They are referred to as #3 screws. Fender uses SAE sizes, so I'm not sure what that would be in metric.

Have you thought about going to your local hardware store and buying a couple sizes, then seeing which works better? Or just taking the pickup with you, unless it's attached to the guitar still.

Hi

Its still attached.the heads on they screws are too big.i got some screws today which are 30mm which are too big.i might try b&q tomorrow.im sure 2mm or 2.5.my main hope is someone on here has strat with humbucker unscrew one of the screw and measure it.

Well I tried my local b and q store today with no luck.also tried a local hardware store with no luck.

I will try the b and q warehouse next week.

I needed a set of springs and screws for a HB the other week. I was not sure witch to order so I just ordered both style A and B to be safe. I ordered from these guys and I'm very happy and the delivery was fast

Thanks for your reply.that site you have posted is in the us im in the uk.ive actually bought somescrews from a site called allparts which should hopefully work.

Imperial and US threads like SAE and UNF are not normally interchangeable with metric because the thread pitch is different. - So you need to know whether your pickup is US or Asian manufacture. The best bet is to take the pickup or one of the screws to a hardware store or specialist screw supplier and check it, as suggested.

Unfortunately i dont have specialist screw suppliers or that many hardware stores where i live.The guitar was made in either the 70s or the 80s.Not sure if it was India or US.It was a company owned by Fender but like i said the parts i have bought from allparts look hopeful.

call allparts. tell them you have metric humbuckers and they will be able to get you the right screws
