Here's our new single, this time with a video! Soundcloud link will be up later, but for now you'll have to make due with Youtube:

C4C as always. I think I'm through all of the C4C's from the last time, but I got a little confused, so tell me if I missed anyone!

I cant say ive ever heard anything like this. Wasnt the biggest fan of the vocals, BUT they werent bad, just not my style. The music was super interesting. What are your influences? I seriously cant recall anything like this. The only part i really didnt like was that intro drum fill, that was quite meh. THE LITERALLY everything else about this was amazing!! Would love to hear more from you guys in the future!!!

Agree with awesomo, this is very original, I think you already have a signature sound guys (well, I don't really know many alternative bands).

I think the song lacks some bass until 2:35 or so, enjoyed it a lot after that

Also, this is a live version right? Or was the video recorded afterwards? Very nice indeed!

Wow, thanks! The three of us have got quite different influences, but I've been listening to a lot of Radiohead, Portishead and the like myself. If you want to hear more, you can check out our soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/Effay - I think you'd like "Flying Turtles" or perhaps even "Masquerade Parade". I do think this is our best song ever, so you might be disappointed. Either way, I appreciate your comment

Oh, and about that intro drum fill: Do you mean the fooling around at the very beginning of the track? That's not actually part of the song, just our drummer messing around. We wanted to establish that rehearsal-room feel.

@VictorG

Yeah, lacking bass has always been an issue. We had a session bassist for a concert, which sounded awesome, but we have yet to decide to find a permanent bassis. This is indeed a live version (except for the synths of course), but since we only had one camera, we had to play back on some of the shots. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, lacking bass has always been an issue. We had a session bassist for a concert, which sounded awesome, but we have yet to find a bassist that we could actually play with for a longer period of time. I figured that intro fill was a joke haha ill definitely check out your soundcloud

I'd have liked to hear a fuller sound (with bass or keyboards) in the intro (it's quite long). I definitely liked the part where all instruments kick in. Not a fan of such a light vocal tone, but it fits the style very well and he's in tune all the time. Great sound quality, btw! Congrats on this track!

PD: I think my link is fixed! (https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1644457)

Give it a listen whenever you can! Cheers and congrats once again!

Huliheaden,
Thank you for the review! Now your tune: I thought it sounds very good up to ~0:46, but then the guitar player on the left played a riff that I don't think fits......maybe if there was less distortion & volume on his guitar I would like that part better. Vocals are good. Other than that one gripe, I think the audio quality is quite good for a mostly live recording. Synths are cool. Except for the one complaint I think the song is quite good. Sometimes I think I hear electric bass, and other times not, I guess it is just some low guitar notes.

As I listen:

The low notes of the second guitar do a great job of filling in for the bass. When recorded in the studio however, I think it would sound stronger if you threw in some bass notes for the section at 1:14.

I love the riffing you guys use.

It's a very full sound for a three-piece, and the vocals fit it really well. If either of the other members can do backing, that'd also help,

That section starting at 2:35 is awesome. It sounds like the guitarist on the left is using a pitch shifter to get the bass sound. Whatever it is you're using, it sounds great.

Overall, this is very well done; you guys have a very unique sound.

C4C? Links are in my sig.

Thanks for reviewing my song
You guys have a very individual style and I'd definitely be interested to hear more stuff from you, the interplay between the two guitar parts is very cool and I like the contrast between the guitar tones as well. I can't help but feel like it's lacking a bit of bass but it still works very well overall as a complete package.

Thanks for Crit.

Track has a brit rock (Arctic Monkeys) style.

Drums seem a little weak in the mix and I think you may be missing a nice thick bass line!
Good composition overall.

The track is tight.
