Ok im lookingfor new music. So my question is if you were going to put the top 30 thrash albums in order. What would it look like?...and lets try to keep anyone in the big four out if it as much asvpossible

In no particular order, I will start with with:

Watchtower's Control and Resistance
Kreator
Voivod
Savage Messiah's Plague of Conscience

Leaving the big 4 out is kind of difficult, seeing as they pretty much are the best thrash metal bands (or at least consistently good). Does it matter when the album came from either? One album I can think of is Enter the Grave by Evile.

From This Day Forward sticks a finger up my ass, the last two albums from Vektor tickle a ball each, Darkness Descends works the shaft, By Inheritance tongue fucks my mouth, Anno Domini rubs my neck,Sentence of Death tweaks my nipples, Seven Churches nibbles my earlobes, In the Sign of Evil pulls my hair, No More Colour makes me question why I don't do this more often, War And Pain cat-o-nine-tails my ass and Show No Mercy makes me breakfast the morning after.

That's about as much as I'm willing to get into without getting into xxx porno stuff. One of the most cringeworthy things I've ever written. Enjoy it or don't. I will probably view this thread in the morning and question why I drank the night before.

EDIT: For the record, currently listening to Imminent Regenerator because it's catchier than AIDS, right fellas?

There are so many good to great albums (even leaving out the big 4) that it is difficult to make such a list...Why don't you take a look at the bands/albums listed in the Rec Thread at the top of the page?

edit:

err I typed all this and did not see severed's post above...
I take it all back...that post by severed said it all really. I literally could not have put it better.

By Inheritance for sure, I mean just listen to this:

Been listening to their early demos and debut, and all I have to say is that they should have kept the production of Fear Of Tomorrow on By Inheritance. Imagine how heavy the album would sound with that near-death styled production.

Yea i know its hard to leave the big 4 out but i have like all their songs memorized already. Thanksvfoor the info guys keep it comming. Supeised no one mentioned artillery yet

Pretty easy to leave the Big 4 out tbf. There are only only one or two really great albums to come from them collectively anyway, most of the things done by them were done better by other people.

Early Kreator for example, is Slayer, if Slayer weren't shit.

lol. Endless Pain is just a second-rate copy of what Slayer and Exodus were already doing two years earlier, the only noteworthy thing being Petrozza's rasps. The songwriting on Hell Awaits is so much more mature and atmospheric than anything you can find on any Kreator album.

These aren't the "best" but some cool stuff. Also not in order...

1. The Art of Partying - Municipal Waste
2. King of the Kill - Annihilator
3. Pleasure to Kill - Kreator
4. The Years of Decay - Overkill
5. Time Does Not Heal - Dark Angel
6. Forbidden Evil - Forbidden
7. Handle With Care- Nuclear Assault
8. Practice What You Preach - Testament
9. The Ultra Violence - Death Angel
10. Doomsday For The Deceiver - Flotsam and Jetsam
11. Another Lesson in Violence - Exodus
12. Metal Church - Metal Church
13. The American Way - Sacred Reich
14. Manic Impressions - Anacrusis
15. Nothingface - Voivod
16. Persecution Mania - Sodom
17. Sahara - Orphaned Land (Debatable whether thrash)
18. Oppressing the Masses - Vio-Lence
19. No More Color - Coroner
20. Shattered Existence - Xentrix

classic 80s thrash aside, the best imo is black future by vektor, violent mosh and chemical assault by violator, and toxic holocaust's evil never dies

What you're saying would be true...if Slayer wasn't complete shit.

I still find Kreator to be better. Yes, Slayer were instrumental in Thrash. But I think Kreator did it better.

See previous statement.

Every time someone disagrees with you or says something you don't like, they're not stupid or false or wrong. Get over it.
