Local punk scene stays pretty strong and is consistently good. Sing the Body and TV Microwave are solid examples. Gnarwhal and False Crack have been staples for a long time as well as the Substitoots.

I can't stand jawaiian ugghh.

Honolulu would be the worst city because if you want to tour have fun paying all of that money to get your gear onto an airplane.

Fresno California if you want to make it in the "heavy deathcore" scene (Chelsea Grin cover bands without the lead guitar because apparently that's "for pussies")

I'm not joking, there's seriously a group of deathcore kids who think they're music is so much heavier that they are a completely different genre of deathcore

Yay! This isn't a bad city to start a band in, plenty of cheap practice spaces, a lot of different musicians trying different things, a pretty inclusive music scene with a lot of small venues. The only problem is (although thrusting goes for plenty of places) its near impossible to break out of the local scene.

All you guys got it wrong with Detroit and Chicago.

If you wanna make it in Detroit you gotta make techno.

And Chicago is all about house.

I have noticed that as well.

It seems local culture here is also copying Popolo culture and using a Popolo flag to represent Reggae and Jawaiian.
