2 hours into it so far. three 2"x10"s (24' total) and a 2"x4".

i have it assembled the center will be where the power connections and stuff will go on the center shelves. 7' long overall and the big holes will be for the cabinets, and heads will sit on top.

basically i got it cut and screwed, everything was square so that was nice routed the edges to roll over, and when i get back up there (later tonight) i am going to fill in the screw holes and put a coat of primer on it, then it twill be a gloss white like the trim in the rest of my house.

i have a vaulted celing in the main room and i cut to match the angle a 2"x6" to hang three guitar hangers on.

Cool idea, especially for someone like you with a crap ton of amps and cabs. Good way to clean it up and make it a part of the decor of the house. Makes me want to buy/make another cab so I can build one of these.
Gibson DC standard, PRS S2 Mira, Fender MIA strat, HWY1 tele, Reverend Manta Ray 290, Charvel Pro mod, ESP LTD EC1000 and Viper 400
Marshall JCM 2000 DSL100, EVH 5153, Peavey Classic 30 2-2x12's

yea it should be nice. i am doing all the prep tonight and priming and painting tomorrow.

all i have into it is <$40 of wood. i don't remember how much into the paint, because i had half of a 5 gallon leftover from painting the trim inside the house, but it will cover. then for primer just killz.

the biggest cab it will fit is a mesa rec cab, but i won't be putting it there. i just left my options open.

_____________

i plan on building some more cabs, probably just like my randall (2x12" and 1x15" in the same cab) i will then use those more permanently there.

i have two 1x15" cabs built, but unfinished with no speakers, not a huge priority atm.

it has a name. amplitainment center. offically.

i will have it filled and sanded tonight. shouldn't take too long, the filler dries in 30 minutes, then sand. i have a block which i will probably just do. or i have a belt sander and a random orbital if i need something more.

i will take pics after prime and paint and bring it in, and get it set up.

Looks like a great project. I have re-purposed a tv entertainment armiore into my version of that. I have another design for I plan to build, just haven't gotten to it yet. I was planning on dubbing mine "The Guitarmiore".

I saw in a couple of pictures that on Bucketheads Les Paul (only some pictures) that his neck pickup is painted in white. Can anyone explain to me why he would do this, and if there are any pros and cons.

Awesome man, turned out great. You must have inspired me because I stopped by and bought 18mm birch plywood to build another 2x12 cab. One for the Mesa and one for the Orange. Probably load the mesa one with v30s (or veteran 30s) and the orange one with a combo of speakers.
