I've been practicing The Rack and similar exercises to increase my flexibility, but I notice that to reach stretches in these exercises, and just while playing, my hand will rotate get a better stretch. I.e. if you look directly down at my fretting hand, my second knuckles will go from pointing straight ahead to pointing leftward. Is this poor form? Always? – or just when doing exercises?

Man if this is poor form I have to say, I am not very flexible.
