First time poster, have been on the site for tabs and guitar advice in the past. I have been playing guitar for approx. 2 years and have not looked very much into the inner components as of yet.

I recently picked up a Dean VMNT for $450 (CAD) and it looks, plays, and sounds awesome. When I looked in the battery compartment there was no terminals, so I looked in the back compartment and the battery was in there.

Is this a big deal? I'm worried about a possible short. This is my first guitar with active pups. Do people rig it up like that for a reason? Should I rewire it?

Thanks a lot,
