Hey guys,

I'm running a fender american standard strat 2014 into a VOX AC4C1 practice tube amp and i'm getting a whole bunch of static. Only just bought the guitar, it's not hugely loud but i have owned a mexican strat before and the static wasn't this prominent. It seems to relieve itself by about 40% when you touch the metal but the static still remains. When i plug the guitar in on my AKG wireless system, the static vanishes?

Does this sound like a guitar issue or an amp issue?

Don't particularly want to return the guitar, it's been bought as a gift for me, so want to check what i can do to fix it.

Thanks

It sounds like a simple ground wire issue. Make sure the black wire coming from the volume pot is touching the tremolo in some way.
