I was wondering if someone has had this guitar and could tell me how is the quality of the body/neck overall.

Of course, it's not going to be custom shop, but if, for example, one is to replace all the electronics with MIM ones, would it be as good as a MIM Blacktop HH?

The reason I am asking is because I want to get an HH guitar and the Strat body is the most comfortable to me. I don't really want to spend an extra $400 just for the el. parts on a MIM, which I would end up replacing anyways

If I was going to get a Squire Bullet HH just to gut it and put in new hardware and p'ups, I'd go for something a bit better than the Blacktop ones, TBH. While the p'ups in my Blacktop are fine for what I do, I've had to fix the thing a few times for different things failing. Both hardware and wiring. It's why, if I buy another Strat, I will probably buy a G&L or Godin or something.

The bullet is not a very good guitar at all. If you want something decent and cheap, the Squier Vintage Modern or Classic Vibe series are all I would touch.

The MIM Fenders have more than just the hardware that are better, the quality of the materials and quality of the construction process is overall better.

I don't plan on putting MIM hardware, I'm just shopping for a Strat body with HH set-up which I can use to put something better in it (as soon as I make up my mind on what ).

The Bullet seems to be the only Squier that has Strat with HH set-up.

Well that is mainly the pick-guard. Most Squier strats have a "swimming pool route" under the pick-guard. While some have had SSS and HSH route's in the past they just do the swimming pool mostly, especially on the cheaper lines (it is easier and cuts some cost)

I hear you, but how much better would a $200 guitar be vs. a $100, when the hardware is excluded? Aren't all Squiers made at the same factory?

Nothing this cheap at any GC within a 100 miles from me I wish, I would snatch it right away.

you can buy online and if you don't like it, you can return it by mail or to your local GC. Just call the store it is listed in and talk to them, I do it all the time.

Cool! I actually got to play with a Squier Bullet - felt like a toy, no way I could use it

For $250.00 you can get a Squier Vintage Modified Strat . There's one model that has a Humbucker in the bridge and all of the pickups in that series are Duncan Designed, so IMO, those guitars are definitely way much better than any of the bullets.
