I'm looking for a practice amp. Something on the small side but puts out big sound. Tubes are preferable. I'd like it to be versatile enough to go from playing twangy Aerosmith to having the deep, full tones like AC/DC and Metallica. And I'm looking for something affordable. What do you think?

What's affordable for you?
Charvel So-Cal (SH6TB/N, killswitch), Jackson RR5FR (TB6/Jazz, Drop C). Joyo pxl pro.
Loop1=Crybaby from hell, Boss PS-5, Seymour Duncan 805 or Green Rhino, EQD Hoof or Earthbound Audio Super Collider. Loop 1 into ISP Decimator II.
Loop 2 (FX loop)-Line6 M9, TC Spark Mini. Loop 2 into mxr 10band. All into a Peavey Triple XXX 212, Ibanez IL15.

I'm looking for something between $300-$400. Ordering/buying something new is good, but I'm not afraid of used gear either. Right now I'm using a Peavey Vypyr VIP-3. I don't have much space for the Vypyr to sit out constantly and it's too much of a beast when it comes to just casual practicing.

Well if you want something smaller than your VIP 3, look at the Peavey JSX Mini Colossal it is a pretty decent sounding mini tube amp, you'd need a boost to get modern Metallica, but it will do the 80's sound just fine on its own

I like the sound if the JSX, but I know I'll miss the use of equalization. I like the DSL5C 5W though.
