I'm planning on buying my second amp for practicing and occasionally playing small gigs. I first got a 15 watt Marshall Valvestate and I don't really like the sound of it, and now I'm mostly in between the Fender Champion 40, Fender Mustang II v2 and the Vox VT40+. I'm looking for an all around amp that can handle high gain but can also deliver decent clean sounds.

I play an Ibanez RG350EX and own a Metal Muff. Which one would you recommend?

PS: I'd love to hear new suggestions! (And no, I can't afford a tube amp )

yes location can help us narrow down deals close to you, and amps can cost very different prices in different areas.

Roland Cube/ Fender Mustang

The Vox VT is a pretty nice amp but has the least interesting hi gain tone of the three IMO. I am continually surprised by the Cube as a butt-simple practice amp that really sounds pretty good.
"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

The problem I have with tube amps is that the new ones I can afford are usually between 1 and 5 watts, and I know it's not the same wattage as in solid state but they're still pretty quiet ):

And thanks, I'll check out the Roland Cube too!

The Valveking I linked is a 50 watt 1x12 combo, it will be loud enough for anything you want to do. It has a very nice clean channel and can do thrash just fine

Oh, I couldn't see that. When I enter the link it says that it's sold out.
