Hey all,

I've got a PRS SE 245 and I'm looking to put in a gibson 57 classic in the bridge position. Normally It would be no problem but the new pickup has 4 wires as well as the loose thin fibers (which i assume is the ground). It was for coil splitting but im looking to use it only as a humbucker. Can I tape off some of those wires to narrow it down just to 2?
Oh hey, I didn't see you there

Seymour Duncan's website has awesome wiring diagrams. Just cross reference the Gibson instructions for what each wire does in case the colors don't exactly match SD's site and you should be good.

red is hot and is wired to your selctor switch.

white and green get wired together and taped with electrical tape or masking tape.

Black and the bare wire are ground and usually go to the back of the volume pot
