I have a Peavey Classic 50 2x12 combo in tweed that is looking kinda gnarly. I am thinking about recovering it with tolex. I found some cool materials online that aren't very expensive that I think I could work with.

I have watched some vids online about working with tolex and recovering amps with it, but I always find things more difficult than what the instructions make them out to be.

Has anyone here done it, and if so, what tips can you give me?

I did it to my Mesa DC5 and I'm pretty sure I did a thread on it, I'll see if I can't find it.

Edit: Here is the thread https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1180578

I guess I didn't actually do much of a how to. I used the latex glue from allparts (expensive for most but I get dealer prices) and found everything to be very simple. I followed one of the many vids on youtube and found it to be just as easy as it looked.

There is one youtube vid that shows a guy using 3m spray adhesive. Do you think that would really work for the long term? I can get that fairly inexpensively.
