Hi guys, I'm in need of help to figure something out to see if it is a good combination to have a BOSS Metal Zone MT-2 with a Line 6 amp. The type of Line 6 i have is a Spider III 15W and a Spider IV 150W. Type of genre I'm looking for is heavy metal.

Both of my Line 6 EQ is set to :
Bass - 8
Mid - 4
Treble - 9 or 10

Now the question is why does the pedal give a good outcome with the Spider III other than the Spider IV? The description on both amps with the CLEAN channel, using the Spider III it gives a bright heavy distortion compared to the Spider IV that drowned the FX of the distortion. Both are manual adjusted EQ, no presets being included.

The preset to my BOSS Metal ZOne MT-2 is set to:
High - 1 o'clock
Low - 3-4 o'clock
Middle - 3 o'clock
Mid Freq. - 2-3 o'clock

(Type of sound I am looking for, for those that are curious, it is a type of heavy metal that may sound similar to Static - X, and/or Korn.

You're obviously not using enough gain and have too many mids.

Oh geez...have you tried the pedal on a different amp without actually turning the pedal on?

Unless it's black metal, ditch the metal zone and raise the ****in mids.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

I seem to remember that. This may be the 0,01% of times when a Line 6 Spider and a Boss MT-2 actually deliver the tone a person needs.
