I have decided on the Blackstar ht5 metal head and now I'm on the search for a great cab. I have been told that I want some thing with a vintage 30. I'm clueless on this subject. I have been looking at a Orange cab, Also the Hughes Kettner. Both with v30's and both are 1x12. I'm looking for a 1x12, would these both be ideal choices? or can you suggest a better 1x12 cab?

Where do you live and what is important to you? Tight bottom end, size, light weight, build quality, looks, open back, closed back, thiele tuned cab, price?

What about the cabs made for the Mesa mini rec? or Orange 112. Those should be good. Ill stop there before biased opinions come out.

ok cool, ill see what I can find and ill post some links

Orange ppc1c $200: http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm?page=1&sort=price&dir=asc&srch&q=ppc&distance=100

Some Mesa 112s for <$300: http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm?page=1&sort=price&dir=asc&srch&q=mesa%20boogie&distance=100

My personal choice would be a little lower on the mesa link there is a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab for $400

These are a good way to go as well, great build quality and have it made exactly how you want.

Like this from whitebox http://www.whiteboxeng.com/modern-212/

custom 2x12 with your choice of speakers. Could do the 112 as well if you prefer for cost. Avatar is the same way, you can choose all the options.

I second an Avatar cab. Good build quality, reasonable prices, and your choice of style and speaker. I have a traditional 1x12 Avatar that I like.
