Me and my band play music like LA dispute, touche amore, and pianos become the the teeth. Right nowi just us a guitar amp rewired to a subwoofer. I need to know what gear I would need to play that genre of music at like house shows or backyard shows, like what amps and cabs(if they're even needed for small shows like that).

This is about the best you will do if you buy new with your budget.

But I'd go used and get this head which is a very good one

and this cab

It will work great for what you need and has plenty of power

Good choices. I'd go with the GK rig, myself. It's a more versatile setup that you could use anywhere, not just small parties.

Right at the top of that ^ list is Ashdown. Don't go near Ashdown, they are total crap. I know a guy who had an Ashdown 410 literally blow apart on him. The cabinet literally fell apart, disassembled right in front of him on the stage during a gig. Otherwise, good list.
If I were you I'd just buy the GK rig Rob found. GK aren't my favourite bass rig but they are a good, honest, working man's workhorse.

That always brings tears to my eyes. Never gets old.
