Legend says Mary cried
upon these grounds
while she watched her son
march towards his death.

And there you are,
my love, my flower,
standing upon holy ground
planting your blessings.

The roots of your beauty
crawl up the mountainside.
I hear my footsteps
guide me to your petals.

Looking down upon you,
my Lily of the Valley,
I am lured to taste your tears
and die.

I really like it overall, but this image is just fantastic to me!

I would take away these two lines, at least, to me they sound out of place (but I'm not native english speaker, so ):

"planting your blessings."
"guide me to your petals."

Like this:

Legend says Mary cried

while she watched her son
march towards his death.

And there you are,
my love, my flower,
standing upon holy ground

The roots of your beauty

I am lured to taste your tears
and die.

Just my opinion of course

Thanks for the read!

this is a strong work. all the images fit together quite well and it flows within itself. as the above said, the ending was great. only thing i have to offer is that i dislike the title, it gives away a bit too much. maybe you could tie in some biblical allusion or something to make it more interesting.

otherwise, still a good work. thanks for posting.
