I was looking to have my guitar and boss rc3 plugged straight in to my laptop or pc and record my own music so I know I will need some sort of music recording software.

I am a complete newbie with all this recording stuff but i am very keen to get into it.
Could anyone recommend any good recording softwares and tell me how it should all be set up?

Barber Tone Press > EHX Worm >TC Polytune > MXR Custom Badass 78 > EXH Glove > EHX East River Drive > Zoom G3 > TC Spark Mini Booster

Yeah, do a lot of reading first! Stickies here, or at homerecording.com. Basically, you need an audio interface, a device which converts the audio signal to a digital format. The soundcard in your computer does this, but is not made to do this for high quality music conversion.
