my 1st tube amp got me fired up and now i want another... im looking to get one these in the next few days...my music is heavy/thrashy/metal....question is whats the difference between the 2 amps(besides the price)...from all the reading on this great community i understand that these 2 are highly recommended when it comes to this type of music...the 6505 is at my pick up location so could pick it up tomorrow but the 5150 would be a few days wait for the ship to store deal...but if its superior to the 6505 dont mind waiting a few days...my concern is it being older...dont mind paying extra for one if its going to hold up longer...thanks

They're the same amp.

That's the advantage of being such a distance from Yianni. I can continue to live my life without fear of stumbling upon his dark terror.

5150 = 6505
5150 II = 6505+
5150 III is a completely different amp.

The first two are, as mentioned, EXACTLY the same amp internally.

Other Peavey reference notes:

XXX = 3120
XXX II = JSX

Yes as was said, I've had both at the same time, they are in fact identical. I think the 5150 looks cooler if that matters ha.
