I've been looking for a cheap, used practice amp. There's nothing useable on Craigslist, and I found this one just now on eBay. It's used and ends in a couple hours and seems like a good deal. Anyone have Line 6 stuff or played thru one of these amps?

Well, $250 is a little much for me for just a practice thing - the one on eBay is only $159 if I bid shortly before it ends.

Let me look into this Flextone though just in case but I wanted to stay under $200

Hold on I'll give you a link, they had some flextones for $150 without the pedal board.

Here is one for $159 with the older style pedal board

It is the Flextone II, but still it is better and has more and better amp/cab/fx modeling

Thanks man i'll consider it. Still may bid on this Spider though....

Trust me, I have owned many L6 amps over the years, the spider is the lowest line of their amps. The Flextone is better at everything and it comes with the floorboard which gives you a volume pedal, wah pedal and acess to channel presets and FX.
You also get 30 days to try it out and if you don't like it take it back.

It will be a great home practice amp, but it is also fully gigable

I put another vote in against the spider. I have had the exact same amp, because I couldn't afford a new tube amp over at my university. Fortunately, I have now bought a tube amp, because I really couldn't stand it. The older spider II and III 15w amps were actually better in my opinion. If you want something of comparable price, buy a peavey vypyr 75w, it's a lot better for a similar price.

Here is a Peavey Vypyr 75 with a Sanpera II foot controller for $200.

This is an extremely good deal. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Peavey-Used-Peavey-Vypyr-75-1X12-75W-Guitar-Combo-Amp-110274202-i3836765.gc

The Sanpera II alone is $200 new.

The flextone is still a legit amp even by todays standards, I recomend them frequently for people who need good high gain tones and cleans. It's not a vetta but its still a damn good amp. If you buy a spider for more then 10 bucks I'm tracking you down and kicking you dick!
