Hey there, I am having a problem regarding action adjustment on my floating trem. (Floyd Rose Special on a Jackson DXMG).

I am trying to lower the action and the screw on the thick string side of the bridge is screwed in to the max and won't budge anymore and the action is still really high. I am using gauge 8 strings and I tune down to Eb.

Cheers

You may want to take it to a decent tech.

Pics of the bridge would help, but if the bridge pivot struts are all the way in then you will most likely have to adjust the truss rod and probably put a shim under the front edge of the neck.

Sorry, here is one of the bridge. FYI I used to play 11's on this guitar then changed to 8s's (I had tendinitis in my thumb and tennis elbow in my fretting arm: I know shitty luck). But I have had this problem with the bridge height before and I brought it to a tech and he wouldn't tell me what the problem was or how he fixed it.

Cheers guys

It looks to me like your problem is the studs insert is pulling out. It could be the holes have become misshapen or you might have some cracks in that area. First thing I would do is pop the springs off and lift the floyd out ( you can leave the strings exactly where they are). You might have to wiggle and fanagle a little to get it out. Then examine your stud insert area, take pics if you need and post them. If you have alot of play in the insert hole there are some fixes. If there is no play in the hole then pull the insert out and put a little wood glue on it and reinsert it all the way to the bottom.
