Yeah, but you can do the same thing it does, pus a million other things that are more useful, with a good EQ like an MXR 10 Band.

A Sonic Stomp isn't an EQ pedal.

You can use a Sonic Stomp in front of your amp, but it's less effective there.

You can use an EQ pedal in front either as an EQ or as a booster, similar to a OD pedal in front of your amp. You can use one in your effects loop for fine tuning of your sound.

I realize you don't have an effects loop, I'm speaking generically when I mention one.

So would an eq even work for sound shaping in front of my amp, wish i had a loop

yeah an eq will work fine, and be ten times more useful than the sonic stomp.

sonic maximizer don't do anything worthwhile. i bought one and i liked it for a few days, then it got sold. glad i just had $30 invested into it and probably profited from the sale.

get a MXR 10 band, **** the sonic stomp is a waste of money. the EQ can really help you tweak your tone how you want it.

+1 to the last 3 posts. Not sure if you're gigging or not. If you are, that'd be more of a reason NOT to get a sonic maximizer. They're really good at creating odd phasing issues that will have you buried in the mix faster than you can say potato.

Yeah, the sonic maximizer blows, get the MXR 10 or 6 band EQ.

i would advise the 10 because of the gain and volume sliders, can kind of be used as a boost with your flavor of frequency EQ.
