Cool little tid bit. But unless it's one of those countries where metal is illegal all it is is a cool little fact. But I'm assuming it's like mexico and shit where they just got metal so every teen there is growing long hair and being all "yeahh hail the metal devil horns yeaaaahhhh metallica down with pop!"

Well, you assume wrong. Indonesia's guitar community is seriously thriving and has been for some time. Metal is HUGE there.

How is this news. Omg who cares about what music, books, food etc some president likes? Don't people have better things to worry about?

I can't believe you are whoring yourself out like that.

I don't see what relevance this really has. He's running a country, his taste in music (or anything else for that matter) doesn't really matter...

...unless of course he fails at being a president. In that case the entire world will blame his taste in music.

I think I have a guitar that was made in Indonesia. Though it was probably made by kids, not presidential candidates.

Ah, the metalhead bubble... tragic and hilarious at the same time. Tragarious, if you will.

Nice band name, Tragarious.

so then this isn't a big deal or even very interesting?

no it's totally revolutionary this is amazing metal is finally getting the international respect it deserves i mean there are muslim countries trying to ban metal and here is a muslim country who just elected a metalhead for a president

death to all but metal!

it's all just coming back
it's all coming back

it's all coming back to me

if i was elected president my first action would be to ban metal.

This. The guy should be judged on what he does as a leader and not what music he likes.

Also, Metallica and Napalm Death are pleb-tier. I bet he's just some poser who doesn't even listen to post-blackened jazz-influenced progressive symphonic nu-metal.
I have nothing important to say

I sure hope this trend doesn't continue after his term has ended. One president like this is fine, but the anagram for 'Indonesian metal presidents' is 'I present A.I. and it ends melons'.

Is that what you want?!

For me this is a good enough reason to go to war with Indonesia.

He's a fan of Napalm Death, I've known Napalm Death lyrics to be quite Socialistic. Maybe he'll get something done.

him liking or disliking a genre of music shouldn't even come up in a presidential election
