I've had the idea in my head for only 3 days, but it's something I know I will do.

Next summer I plan on interrailing though Europe on my own. This isn't because I can't find someone to go with me, it's because I love the idea of going on my own. I've started planning my trip by doing research and noting all the places and attractions I would like to visit.

Have any of you ever travelled solo? What was it like?

I'm doing this in two weeks. I've stayed in a few hostels before and I've always ended up meeting people, so I think it'll be pretty G.

what's your planned route, man?

I'm flying out to Gothenburg to stay with a UGer for a week at first and I'm going from there.

Copenhagen - Berlin - Prague - Vienna - Munich - Brussels/Bruges - Amsterdam - Home

Copenhagen, Munich and Brussels are only meant to be day trips since I'm only traveling for 2 weeks. The other places I plan on spending 3 days there, don't actually know what attractions to go to apart from a select few - Berlin Zoo, Berlin Wall, that graveyard where all the composers are, weed and hookers - gonna freestyle it instead I think.

that sounds amazing. i think a couple weeks before i set off i'm gonna contact a few UGers and see if i can see them on my way. so far i've noted a couple things i want to see:

Sagrada Família - Barcelona
Mt. Vesuvius - Pompei
Keukenhof Gardens - Amsterdam
Acropolis - Athens
Matterhorn - Switzerland/Italy

obviously i want to smoke loads of weed in amsterdam and have lots of coffee, and i always wanted to go to a part of europe where i can sit, drink beer, smoke, and look at an amazing view. i've always wanted to see the aurora borealis too. i can't wait, really

^ That sounds pretty G. I'm planning on going interrailing again on a totally different route during Easter time next year. Probably start in Portugal and go around the southern coast or something.

I'm planning a trip to Iceland for early next year too, northern lights being a big part of it. That and tours inside of a freakin' volcano, gnarly viking food festival thing and a bunch of other shit too.

I've done the same thing a couple of years ago. Solo. You won't regret it, enough said. My advice is to plan something in each place so you have a "goal". Me for example, I went from concert to concert and spent a lot of time in between in different cities. It was easier to plan my journey that way and also something to look forward to.

thanks. yeah, i'm planning it for a year from now so i hope to find 2 or 3 things i personally really want to do in each destination, so i have a great deal to be excited about.
