It has less to do with genres and more to do with there already being a thread in there and the hardcore forum likes Dillinger, whereas the metal forum would sooner gouge their eyes out than listen to them.

If it helps; a lot of people seem to dig Miss Machine, so maybe start there?

No, I mean in general. Genres are so annoying. Sure, help grouping stuff but it's gone too far.
