I could trade my hot rod deville which is mint for a mint voxac30. It has the greenbacks. I absolutely love the clean sound of my fender, and almost any pedal sounds great through it. I've read good things about the vox. My fender has 6l6 tubes. The vox is half the power and runs el84's. I just wonder if I would like the VoX as much. Any opinions?

I'm not sure how we could tell you if you'd like the vox as much. It's certainly a good amp but I'd be wary of trading an amp you know you like a lot for an amp that you've never even played.

If you love your amp so much, why would you want to get rid of it?

You're right. I'll keep mine and wait for a second tube amp till I can just buy it and not trade a very good sound away.

Nobody here will ever argue with buying more amps.

David Gilmour prefers the Vox, Larry Carlton prefers the Hot Rod. No wrong choices here.
"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
