Hi all,

the NGD has been a week ago, but I wouldn't dare to keep this porn from you guys.

It's a Blackat Leon S7. For those of you who never heard of Blackat: Thomasz -founder of Blackat guitars, who used to build bases at Warwick- teamed up with Jarek, a former Mayones master builder.

Specs:
Ash body, burled polar top, rosewood & ebony neck, macassar ebony fretboard, Luminlays, graphtech ghost piezo and blackhawks.

Let's get to the porn itself:

Review:
The guitar came out of the case almost perfectly set up, just a tiny intonation problem and fretbuzz on the 7th string. Nothing worth complaining about.

What I like about this piece of wood:
- The neck is unbelievably comfortable. It's nicely rounded, but remains thin and fast. No flat back of the neck. I hate that, and most seven strings have that issue. It tires my wrist when I play for an hour or longer. Not the case with this guitar.
- luminlays will give me guidance in the dark
- Latest Graphtec piezo technology sounds so much better then the previous acoustic preamps they made.
- Fappable woods give me boner every time
- String spacing and nut width are ideal for me
- impeccable build quality
- Matching headstock
- Satin finish
- Increadably clear natural harmonics, pinch harmonics are precisely located where I expect them to be.
- overall great quality feel
- in your face attack, typical growly blackhawk tone, massive (!) sustain.
- price is not depressing for what you get.

What I don't like so much:
- It's quite heavy

Tone woods may or may not matter for electric guitars...but bone woods definitely do- very pretty guitar! HNGD!

Nice

I saw Merchant City Music in Glasgow was selling them, and some were at decent prices. I'd never heard of them but that's interesting if they're made by a Mayones Master Builder.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
