My Ibanez RG8 8-string has a fixed bridge. The problem is that the low B and F# are sharp when it comes to intonation, but I've maxed the screws out as far as they can go on the bridge and I could really use some more adjustment.

Note the springs on the screws on the bridge -


They're preventing me from going back any further.
Can I take the springs off on the lowest strings to get more room to adjust?

Do those springs even do anything?

Yes, but I only do the ones I need to, as they stop the saddle flopping about when changing strings.
