Been at it for about 4 years & looking for better tone....amp wise. Guitars: Mexican made Strat' & Gibson SG. Play mostly Classic Rock. Current amp is Spider IV 15 Line Six Solid State. Budget: 5, maybe $600. Tube amp? Looking for advice, recommendations. Thanx

yeah if you have nice guitars and want better tone for classic rock, tube is probably the way to go as long as you don't have to play at whisper volume all the time.

which classic rock bands' tones do you like?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Welcome to GGnA

I'd look at Egnater amps. They have several amps that work well for Classic Rock. Tweakers and Rebels in particular.

Other things that might suit you:

Peavey Classic 30
Peavey Blues Deluxe
Marshall Class 5
Marshall DSL (used)
Vox Night Train
Vox AC15 (used)
Blackheart BH15
Crate Palomino V33
many many more, especially used
