Hi all, recently my pedalboard has been growing (see sig) and I'm getting to the point where I need to turn on/off multiple pedals and/or channels to go from one sound to the next. I'm not much of a tap dancer so I've been looking into MIDI controllers and I really like the layout of the Voodoo Lab Ground Control. My question is, all the reviews that I've read say that they're pairing it with a Voodoo Lab GCX Audio Switcher to achieve what they want...is that necessary?

I need to be able to swap multiple pedals and possibly swap the channel on my amp with one switch of a button. How do I achieve that?

Example:
Button 1 - Clean Channel: Delay, Reverb, Chorus
Button 2 - Clean Channel: Compression, Chorus
Button 3 - Lead Channel: TS9, Noise Gate, Delay

ect....

If you want to use stompboxes, yeah. Otherwise you need MIDI compatible effects units.

If you want control over MIDI and regular effects I would check out the loopers from Disaster Area Designs. You can turn multiple effects on/off and setup different loops.
