Hi, found this used VOX VT100 in a local music store and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what I should give for it. Is it worth $399 if it works good? Wanted to make sure I had a good idea of its value before I make an offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No way in hell...or the US! If its used, I bought and sold mine for $120. If its new, its still not worth it cause there are lots of better amps out there for $400. I like the VTs but there not worth that much, and that one in particular gets extremely muddy and will not show up in a band mix.

It just takes a day off, huh? I am very familiar with the amp and it is one of the better modelers, if you know what you're doing it is great, but at $400 it is bit much, unless it comes with the big dual floorpedal controller board.

Thanks for the responses and it doesn't come with a pedal board. What I'm looking for is an amp that will be great for playing at home but can also handle a small gig. If I shouldn't pick the VT up, what amp have you used that would be good for my needs? Should I just buy a regular amp and then run effects separately or is there a combo amp that would work just as good? I would like to stay at the $400 range for an amp though.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/items/?_nkw=VOX+VT100&_sacat=&_ex_kw=&_mPrRngCbx=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_sop=12&_fpos=&_fspt=1&_sadis=&LH_CAds=

the footswitch/es is on the bottom of this page which you'll need to play live so you can change the sounds.

You can probably grab it for about $300 or $270 and it will be a good deal.

If you want to go for something else you'll have to specify the parameters.

For $400 probably used Peavey Windsor or Valveking combo:

Maybe the Vox AC15 if you want more classic sounding amp. The older Valvetronix amps were actually a better deal than the one you posted, like this one (originally I confused the one you posted with this):

Way overpriced here (I think) but for about $400 this with the footswitch should be a great deal.

The AD120VT and AD60VT were at one time (Dunno about now, I haven't kept up) were REALLY sought after among the Valvletronix crowd.
I would jump on that AD120VT

What about the AD100? I see a couple on Ebay that say XL, something about extra lead. What does this give you that the regular AD100 doesn't?
