hey all, just a quick one. I'm trying to choose a new amp to use for practise and studio stuff, so far I'm torn between the Blackstar HT5C and the Peavey 6505+ 112.

I'm mostly going to be playing hard rock and metal, along the lines of Alter Bridge, Trivium, Coheed and Cambria and I also play some pop-punk along the lines of Paramore, so a nice clean tone is a fairly important thing. I know the peavey won't have the best of cleans, but are they just sterile or does it just not do clean at all?

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm trying to keep my budget below £350, and trying to choose from these websites (I'll be going to the store but these are the models they'll have);

www.giggear.com
www.pmtonline.co.uk

Thanks guys!

No don't get a blackstar HT.
Never.

Among the two, the 6505+ indeed.

Though for that stuff you listed I'd rather get a DSL401 + maybe a new speaker.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.
