So as this is the most amount of money I've ever spent on a guitar, you guys can help me on it. As I have to use this retailer because of a guitar I've returned.

Has to be a V/or a light guitar or something similar because of medical reasons (I have a colostomy bag as I've probably said in a previous thread) and I've been getting V's as of late because, well... I love V's.

Looking to spend about £1,00- £1,500 on it.

Must haves:

No trem
Light guitar
Mahogany or Basswood
Not Indonesian/China (if somethings under 1K. I know some of the Higher up LTD/Dean stuff is one of those)
Korean or US if possible

Not as important but would like
V/Pointy/explorer thing

Was looking at this; http://www.thomann.de/gb/dean_guitars_custom_shop_v_mahogany.htm

As I've been burnt by buying a guitar sight unseen before I was wondering if you guys could advise me on this.

As this guitar is expensive (Well for me anyway, certainly not for DannyAlcatraz, you lawyer you)

It'll mainly be used at home for recording, with a slim chance of gigging.

Can always swap the pups if need be. Possibly for some super distortions or something. Really like the tone of those, so it's not important. But I've found recently I like Passives more than actives.

Thanks guys!

Can go under or slightly more. Depends what's out there.

Fender Precision 1989 (CIJ Rosewood)
Fender Steve Harris (CIJ)

Gibson V is an obvious shout out. It has pretty much everything you want, but you must try before buying.

Perhaps a DBZ Bird of Prey with a fixed bridge?

Used Jackson RR5?

Jackson KVMG of some sort?

And well yes, I'll enjoy the carpal tunnel and tendonitis, because trying to get one is clearly smarter than any word you have spoken thus far.

The DBZ Cavallo is a good guitar, but it's my second favorite V on the market right now.

Look at the Reverend V's:

Dead center of your budget
MiK
Very consistent build quality (I have 3, covering @7 years of production)
Made of Korina- similar in tone to Mahogany, but lighter.

Here's the DBZ Cavallo. Hardtail, lightweight.

If I couldn't have a Rev or DBZ, I'd look at the Fernandes V-Hawk and Vortex:

Why, yes, I am a lawyer- thanks for asking!

Log off and play yer guitar!

Strap on, tune up, rock out!

those jaden rose series 2s get a good rep but I haven't tried them and they're basically ibanez rg-shaped.

maybe keep an eye out for some NOS Japanese Jacksons? I think I've seen an occasional RR5/KV5/Ke5 model still around in online shops (but what condition they're in, I dunno).

gibsons (or tokai) would be an option too if they're not too vintage looking/playing
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
