I play hardrock/metal passive pickups only various overdrives.
Should I replace my Mesa in Sigs speaker with something else?
I like the tone but if there is room for improvement I'm all ears.
Also will be adding a mesa 2x12 v30s very soon. Thanks.

It's up to you and its all about the tone you want.

If you want more mids go for v30s.
If you want a more scooped sound then go with g12-t75s.

It's all about hunting the speakers that you want.

Take your head to a shop with lots of different cabs and test em out.

The Mesa I have is a combo and the 2x12 I'm getting has v30's in it.
So what would be a good match for the combo is what I'm after.
Stay stock with black shadow, use a third v30, or something different
all together. And my local stores have sh*t for anything to try out.

The c90s are pretty dark and have quite a low end thump so I reckon a v30 with the upper mids would compliment it well.

Save it and see what you think with the v30s. Then if you wanna change then maybe swap it for a t75 and fill out the top and bottom.

i'd probably hang onto it until you hear it versus the v30 cab. head to head is where you really hear what difference the speakers make.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Yeah I was going to keep the shadow regardless just
wondering if there are better options because I think
I can run the cab plus the combo speaker all at once
and don't want it overly dark or overly bright etc. Want
a good balanced tone.

whatever you do make sure you are matching Ohms.

if your combo has a 16 ohm speaker and your new 212 is a 16 ohm cab then you need to make sure your amp will handle that.I'm not sure you can run the internal speaker AND a speaker cabinet at the same time.

blah bla blah im drunck

Edut==: 16ohm + 16ohm cab = 8 ohm total in a parallel situation. Most amps run multiple loads in parallel (vs series) ok tnx bai !

I'd wait until I heard it altogether with the new cab. I was initially thinking, "maybe run one and a V30" until I saw you were buying a V30 cab.

Wait.

Are you sure the V30 cab you're buying will be an improvement? Is there anything you are missing in your current sound? Just saying, maybe you don't need the cab at all, maybe you just need new speakers, or, maybe what you're running isn't right at all for what you want. Maybe instead of buying a new cab, a speaker or two might get you where you want to go. No reason why replacing one speaker in your combo won't get your tonally what you want. Why add an extra cab? Just replace a speaker in the combo and see if you like the results. I feel speakers are a lot like pickups. You really can't get an idea how they work for you until you have them in your rig so more info on what you feel is missing from your sound would be helpful along with exactly what other gear you are running into your setup.

I want more cut through in live situation full band c90 is
very bass heavy and highs get piercing even dialed way down.
I run a clean boost ocd clone and delay in the loop. Custom guitar
with single x2n no tone just vol pot and a SG with 59/Invader combo
and before the invader hate starts I've been using this pickup before
I even knew who Syn gates was it works for me period.
