I got offered a Hamer XT Series (Indonesia) as a trade for a Schecter Damien Solo Elite. Am I trading down, same or am I trading up? I have never played a Hamer before so I can't make my decision based on that. I am more worried about the construction, quality and components. Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure I've tried those specific models but I'd be scared it'd be a step sideways at best. At least you know how you've looked after your schecter, you have no idea how the other person looked after the hamer.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I have a couple of XT series Hamers. They are good solid guitars, and excellent values for what they cost, but don't bring much used. I don't know what your Schecter is worth, but you can pick up used XTs usually for under $200.

^ That's also a good point- even if the guitars are equal in terms of quality, that's no guarantee they're worth the same on the used market.
