Hi everyone. I just picked up a new Vox AC30C2X 2 days ago and for the most part, love it. I came from an MG100 so I figured this was a good upgrade. I love the warmth of this amp and want to try to get the most out of it.
The issue is, the Top Boost input is just not enough gain for what I'm doing. When I jump the channels, boom there it is! however, I'm kinda stuck after that. I have been practicing with my volume nob, but cant quite get it right.
My question is... Is there anyway to set up a ABY or Selector switch like a VooDoo Lab, to were I can just use the Normal channel of the amp for cleans, then switch over to the top boost with channels jumped as well? I tried using an ABY plugged into both channels, but it doesn't give me the same sound... I am trying to avoid getting an overdrive pedal.. I play mostly bluesy/rock stuff, but we do a few originals (like heavy by collective soul) that the vox just cant pull off with the lower gain..

Hmm I don't get it.. you want to jump from channel clean to channel top boost? Use a footswitch?

Plug into the Top Boost channel and set the gain for your clean tone, then use a boost pedal of some sort to boost the gain?

The way the AC30 is designed, you can only use one jack at a time.
But it can be modified internally to work the way you want it.

I would suggest a pedal.
Some kind of treble booster + an AC30 is awesome.

Edit:
Or something like that.
I just woke up so my brain isn't at 100% yet.

I think thats the route i am going to go. I spoke to some guys at Guitar Center and she suggested the same thing. Thanks.
