Hey guys/gals!

I'm curious to know if I should bother switching out my 7 year old ECC81 preamp, and if I do - are there any recommended 'upgrades'?

Cheers.

Part of me thinks yes change it. But if it still works and sounds great then leave it.

Meaning a tube in a preamp of some kind?

If it still works, get a backup tube for when it fails and keep that one in the pre until it actually fails.

What pre are we talking about anyway?
Name's Luca.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

I guess spambots are now capable of reading minds.
