Im thinking about getting either a Dean ML 79 or a Dean Chicago Flame ML. If I were to get the 79, id probably end up replacing the pickups and the bridge. Would that be worth it or should I just get the Chicago Flame?

I would buy either new but I would be replacing the bridge and the pickups on the 79 if I got it.

Chicago Flame will be a great guitar, if it's anything like my standard.

Why go through with the hassle of modding a guitar when there is a good option that has what you want? You'll probably going to end up spending more with modding, and to further add downsides, a modded guitar will not have nearly as good resale value as a stock one, regardless of how "upgraded" it might me (too have some reason to this, there's no way a buyer could assess the actual work like wiring on an upgraded guitar without spending time going through it).

How you know you have too many guitars...
