Hi all,
I'm new here and. It sure if this is the right place to post this. Anyways here I go. I have a marshall g80r cd amp. I haven't used it in a while. When I plug it in the power flickers on and off. I changed the mains plug but still the same thing. When you plug it out the power light stays on for quite a long time afterwards.

When i press anywhere on it the power comes back on but it's very crackly.

Has anyone experienced this before and if so, how did they fix it?

Thanks

First of all Welcome to UG and yes, you are in the right place. Sorry for your troubles.

Unfortunately, this type of thing can happen and there is no good resolution. If this was a tube amp I'd tell you replace the power tubes. Because it is solid state - I'm just not sure what you can do and it would not be cost effective to take it to a tech.

If you want to get crazy you can take the chassis out of the amp itself and look for a loose or broken connection. Maybe bang on the top of the amp a few times with your fist. Sorry bud.

If you need help getting a new amp we can def help with that.
