Hello guys, recently I bought the blackstar ID 10 amp and been wondering that the Mustang I V2 is probably better for amateurs that play some Blues n Rock.

Also the Fender has the FUSE soft also that allows you to download lots of presets and blackstar has it too but the community is much smaller I guess.

Any opinions about the 2 ?

I can return the Blackstar and pay like 40$ extra to get the Fender

None of them is particularly good and none of them is particularly better than the other one IMO, and if I was you I'd stick to the blackstar and save up for a better amp altogether.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

IMHO the Fender Mustang I is better than the Blackstar ID Core 10, but isn't worth replacing one with the other.

However, if you could upgrade to the Mustang II, which has a 12" speaker, I'd do it without thinking twice.

How significant would the change be ?

Basically I bought a squire (314$) + blackstar 10 (182$).
Getting the Mustang II would cost me as much as the guitar costs.

Pretty significant, a 12" speaker will give you a bigger, fuller sound.

Personally, I'm not a fan of smaller speakers and I wouldn't buy an amp with a speaker with less than 12" diameter.

That is irrelevant, since the amplifier is the most important part of your tone. It can easily represent 70-80% of the sound you're hearing.

A good guitar through an amazing amp will sound amazing.
An amazing guitar through a mediocre amp will sound mediocre.

Thank you sir

I'll consider returning the blackstar and maybe get the Mustang II. When I was buying the guitar I was more considering paying bit extra to get a Fender strat w/ that blackstar.

Guess the amp is the basic core for good sound ;>

I've been thinking guys (and playing my Squire) and I think I'm gonna try this;

Return both the amp and the guitar ~ Get a Fender Strat MIM instead. for an amp my friend has an old Line 6 spider IV 15w that he'll give me until' I save some money for Mustang II
- Now, they have a blacktop strat and a regular standard strat.
The blacktop costs 560$ and the standard Fender 675$

Are they identical ? should I rather get the standard ??
